For the purposes of this survey, a Peer-To-Peer (P2P) file-sharing client is a program like Kaaza, Morpheus, BitTorrent, or I2Hub that allows you to share, upload, or download different kinds of files. In addition, any program that allows you to share content directly with another computer or user, like AOL Instant Messenger's Direct Connect feature, will also be considered a P2P application.
A P2P file-sharing network, in the context of this survey, is the network of computers that a P2P client connects to in order share, upload, or download content. For example, Kaaza connects to the Fast-Track network, and AOL Instant Messenger connects the user to the AOL(AIM) network.
